Friends of the Amador County Library (FACL)
Who we are / What we do
The Friends of the Amador County Library (FACL) was formed in 1974 to support the Amador County Library. This includes the main Jackson Library and the branches in Ione, Pioneer, Pine Grove, and Plymouth. All branches benefit from help provided by our organization. The Friends is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit group which means your donations are tax-deductible.
Since 1974, the Friends of the Amador County Library has raised money to support and enhance the county's library system. Over the years the Friends' contributions have made possible a host of activities and purchases that might have otherwise not been possible. Donations have included new shelving, books, audio books, and assistance in funding the summer reading program.
A membership in Friends of the Amador County Library provides financial support to the entire library system. Fundraising activities include book sales twice a year and other special events. FACL also actively encourages gift-giving such as memorials, bequests, donations, and group contributions. To join this group of dedicated volunteers who believe that good libraries define a community, visit our Membership page. (As an added bonus, the first night of each book sale is reserved for members only.)
