Friends of the Amador County Library (FACL)

Events & Projects -- Book Drives

The Friends have book drives four or five times per year. This is an opportunity for people to drop off their gently used books at our book storage site in Jackson and receive a receipt for a tax-exempt donation, along with our thanks. The drives are normally at 42A Summit Street in Jackson (behind the old courthouse). Sometimes they are held at other places around the County. Look for information in the Amador Ledger Dispatch or see flyers at the Amador County Library's main branch.

The tax deductible donations of books and audio-visual materials are sold at the Friends of the Library book sales held in the Spring and Fall of each year at the American Legion Hall in Martell/Sutter Creek. Address is 12134 Airport Rd. (mailing address: P.O Box 100, Sutter Creek, CA 95685).  Proceeds from the Friends’ book sales are used to acquire new materials and equipment for the library and support library programs and activities.

Gently read books and lightly used audio-visual materials are requested.   The Friends cannot accept donations of books in poor condition, manuals or magazines. For more information, call 209-217-1911. Just a reminder that your donations are tax deductible. The Friends of the Amador County Library is a 501(c)3 organization.

Drop off locations for book donations are:

• El Dorado Savings Bank, 460 Hwy 49, Sutter Creek
• American River Bank, 422 Sutter St., Jackson
• American River Bank, 26395 Buckhorn Ridge Road, Pioneer
• Pokerville Market, 18170 State Highway 49, Plymouth

If you have major donations of books and can't make it to the book storage or the other drop off locations, please contact us at 209-217-1911 and someone will pick up your donations.
