Book Drives

FACL is now accepting donations by appointment only. Please email us or call 209-217-1911 to arrange an appointment

FACL hosts book drives twice a year. This is an opportunity for you to drop off your gently used books at our Book Room in Jackson and receive a receipt for your donation, along with our thanks. We post dates and times here, on our Facebook page, in the Ledger Dispatch, and at all five library locations.

Your donated materials are sold at our book sales held in the Spring and Fall of each year at the American Legion Hall, 12134 Airport Road, Martell/Sutter Creek 95685, at the corner of Highway 49 and Airport Road. Donated books are also for sale at the library. Proceeds from our book sales are used to acquire new materials and equipment for the library and support library programs and activities.

We accept new or gently used books, DVDs, and CDs, as well as puzzles and board games with all pieces.  FACL cannot accept donations of books in poor condition, manuals, magazines, or textbooks. For more information, contact us or call 209-217-1911. Friends of the Amador County Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

The rest of the year, you can drop off your donations during business hours at the following locations:

• El Dorado Savings Bank, 460 Hwy 49, Sutter Creek
• American River Bank, 422 Sutter St., Jackson
• American River Bank, 26395 Buckhorn Ridge Road, Pioneer
• Pokerville Market, 18170 State Highway 49, Plymouth

If you have just a few books to donate, you can take them to the library.
If you have major donations of books and can't bring them to the Book Room or the other drop-off locations, please contact us at 209-217-1911 to arrange for a donation pickup.
