There are Many Ways to Support the Library

There are many meaningful ways to support the Friends of the Amador County Library. Choose the option that is right for you:

Your gently used books and other items help stock our twice-yearly Friends of the Library book sales. Proceeds from these sales support the Amador County Library and help provide books, programs, and resources for our community. A small selection of donated items is also available year-round at the Jackson Library.

We welcome donations of:

  • New and gently used books
  • Children’s books and classic titles
  • Games and puzzles
  • CDs and DVDs
Small donations:

You can drop off books, games, puzzles, CDs, and DVDs at one of these convenient locations:

  • Bank of Marin — 422 Sutter Street, Jackson
  • Pokerville Market — 18170 State Highway 49, Plymouth
  • El Dorado Savings Bank — 460 State Highway 49, Sutter Creek

Please do not leave large boxes or bags outside the drop-off locations.

Larger donations:

If you have a large number of items or need help getting your donation to us, please contact us. We will be happy to discuss arrangements.

What We Can Accept

To help ensure that donated items are ready for resale, we ask that books be clean and in sellable condition. We gladly accept classic titles and children’s books, provided they have:

  • No stains, odors, or water damage
  • Intact, unbroken spines
  • No underlining, highlighting, or writing
  • No markings of any kind, except author autographs
For other items:
  • CDs and DVDs should be scratch-free and in their original packaging.
  • Puzzles and games must include all pieces.

Thank you for helping us turn your gently used items into continued support for our library.

If you are not already a member, join FACL and help strengthen our ongoing support for the library.

Honor a birthday, graduation, holiday, anniversary, or other milestone with a gift to FACL.

Honor the memory of a loved one or friend with a meaningful contribution. Their family will receive an acknowledgment of your gift, and a bookplate may be placed in the book or books of your choice.

Remember FACL in your will or trust. Even a small percentage of your estate can make a meaningful difference for the future of the library.

You may be able to support FACL through a donor-advised fund, securities, or another charitable giving option. A planned gift can benefit the library for years to come and may offer tax advantages. Please consult your financial or tax advisor for guidance.

Support a Friends or library program through sponsorship, or make an in-kind donation of goods or services through your business. Contact us to learn about current needs, upcoming projects, sponsorship opportunities, and ways to share your ideas.
